Welcome to the Book Realm
This is the home of Jax Southam’s fiction ~ stories of magic, mystery and very human lives.
From the hidden city of Casslewich to secret organisations, unexpected friendships and lives taking surprising turns, Jax’s stories explore what happens when the ordinary brushes against the extraordinary.Â
Meet Jax Southam
Moons & Runes
Welcome to Casslewich ~ a city where magic is real, secrets rarely stay buried and ordinary lives have a habit of becoming extraordinary.
The six-book Moons & Runes series follows Thea Dawson and the people around her through mysteries, friendships, ancient magic and the increasingly strange events unfolding in their city.
But Casslewich is more than the setting for a series of books. It’s a place with its own history, characters and secrets ~ and you’re invited to step inside.
Time to Shine
A different story. The same magical city.
Time to Shine is a cosy romance about Kendra Pallas, a woman who has spent years feeling that somehow she isn’t living the life she was meant to live.
When an unusual prescription introduces her to Casslewich’s Timebank, Kendra finds herself drawn into a community where everyone’s time is valued equally — and where giving a little of herself might just help her rediscover what she has lost along the way.
And for readers of Moons & Runes, there are some familiar places and faces waiting for you. Kendra’s path takes her through The Pentacle, into Moons & Runes, and even into the healing room of Marianne Connor.
A story of community, connection, romance and finding the courage to become more fully yourself.
All profits from the sale of Time to Shine are donated to GYup.
The POISE Archives
Magic has rules. POISE exists to make sure they’re followed.
Away from the quiet streets of Casslewich lies a rather different world ~ one where paranormal activity is investigated, contained and, preferably, kept out of the public eye.
The POISE Archives follows the people charged with doing just that, combining urban fantasy, mystery and the complicated relationships of the people behind the organisation.
