Jax Southam ~ Founder of Awakened Realm
There was a time in my life when, from the outside, everything probably looked perfectly normal.
I was coping.
Functioning.
Doing what needed to be done.
Like so many women, I had become very good at carrying things quietly.
Responsibilities.
Expectations.
Emotional weight.
The endless pressure to keep going no matter how exhausted I felt inside.
And somewhere along the way, without even noticing when it happened, I lost connection with myself.
Not dramatically.
Not through one huge event.
Just gradually.
I think many women understand that feeling.
You wake up one day and realise you have spent so long being what everybody else needed that you no longer really know who you are underneath it all.
And the strangest part is that life often keeps moving around you as though nothing is wrong.
You still show up.
Still care for others.
Still get through the day.
But inside, something feels quieter.
Further away.
Harder to reach.
For a long time, I believed the answer was to try harder.
To become:
- more organised,
- more disciplined,
- more positive,
- more productive,
- somehow “better” at being human.
But eventually I realised that exhaustion is not always a sign of failure, and is often a sign of pretending to be someone you’re not ~ it is simply what happens when someone has spent too long disconnected from themselves. I made a commitment to myself ~ No Masks
That realisation changed everything for me.
Not overnight.
There was no dramatic transformation moment.
No instant reinvention.
Instead, there began a much slower, gentler process of returning to myself.
Learning how to listen inwardly again ~ to be true to myself.
Learning that rest is not a weakness ~ but is necessary.
Learning that self-kindness matters ~ it doesn’t mean you stop being kind to others
Learning that I did not have to earn my worth through endless over-giving and emotional endurance ~ I AM worthy, just as I am.
And perhaps most importantly, learning that healing does not have to feel harsh.
Because so much of the personal development world seemed built around pressure:
- fix yourself,
- optimise yourself,
- transform yourself,
- become a better version of yourself.
But deep down, that never felt right to me.
I didn’t believe women needed more pressure.
I believed they needed:
- safety,
- gentleness,
- honesty,
- reflection,
- and spaces where they could slowly reconnect with who they already were underneath the exhaustion.
Awakened Realm was born from that belief.
Not as a business idea first.
But as a deeply personal response to a question I suspect many women quietly carry:
“How do I find my way back to myself?”
Everything within Awakened Realm has been created intentionally:
- the stories,
- the journaling,
- the gentle pacing,
- the circles,
- the reflections,
- the language,
- the warmth,
- the absence of pressure.
Because I know what it feels like to already be overwhelmed before you even begin.
I know what it feels like to long for change while also feeling too emotionally exhausted to cope with one more demanding programme promising transformation.
And I wanted to create something different. Something softer.
Something that feels less like being told who to become, and more like being gently supported while remembering who you have always been. A simple path with ~ No Detours
The Return to You journey was created from that place.
Not because I believe I have all the answers.
I don’t.
I am still learning too.
But because I believe there is something profoundly healing about women being given permission to:
- slow down,
- reflect honestly,
- reconnect with themselves,
- and realise they are not alone.
I also believe healing happens beautifully in stories.
Stories help us lower our guard.
They help us see ourselves differently.
They allow truths to surface gently, without force.
That is why the journey begins with a novel rather than a workbook.
Because sometimes women are more willing to recognise themselves inside someone else’s story before they are ready to fully face their own.
And perhaps that is okay.
Perhaps healing does not always need to begin with intensity.
Perhaps sometimes it begins with:
- a quiet moment,
- a meaningful sentence,
- a feeling of being understood,
- or the first tiny sense that life could feel different again.
That is what Awakened Realm hopes to offer.
Not perfection.
Not pressure.
Not the promise of becoming someone entirely new, but to become ~ The Real You
Just a gentle space to pause, breathe, reconnect and slowly come home to yourself again.
And if you are here reading this, perhaps some part of you is already beginning that journey too.
If so, I’m truly glad you found your way here.
With warmth,
Jax

Professional Background & Experience
Supporting the Vision Behind Awakened Realm
Awakened Realm was not created from theory alone.
It was built from a combination of:
- lived experience,
- decades of professional work with people in NHS, BUPA, Police and Norfolk County Council,
- extensive personal development study,
- spiritual and reflective practice,
- and a deep understanding of the emotional realities many women quietly carry.
The Return to You journey is intentionally designed as a gentle reflective wellbeing experience — not therapy, counselling or clinical treatment.
Its foundation combines:
- storytelling,
- guided reflection,
- emotional awareness,
- community support,
- journaling,
- nervous-system-sensitive pacing,
- and compassionate facilitation.
Jax’s approach is informed by many years of experience working within:
- health,
- wellbeing,
- mentoring,
- group facilitation,
- reflective practice,
- and emotionally supportive environments.
Alongside professional experience, Awakened Realm has also been shaped through extensive independent study and ongoing learning in areas including:
- personal development,
- emotional wellbeing,
- arts & humanities
- mindfulness and meditation,
- spirituality and symbolic storytelling,
- self-reflection practices,
- and community support dynamics,
The philosophy underpinning Awakened Realm is simple:
Most overwhelmed women do not need more pressure to “fix themselves.”
They need:
- safety,
- gentleness,
- reflection,
- emotional honesty,
- supportive connection,
- and space to reconnect with themselves at their own pace.
Every aspect of the Return to You journey has therefore been intentionally designed to:
- avoid shame-based transformation messaging,
- respect emotional readiness,
- encourage self-agency,
- support healthy boundaries,
- and prioritise emotional safety over intensity.
Awakened Realm does not position itself as a replacement for professional mental health services. Women requiring clinical or therapeutic support are always encouraged to seek appropriately qualified care.
Instead, Return to You exists as a reflective wellbeing and personal reconnection journey ~ one rooted in compassion, self-awareness, storytelling, community and gentle personal growth.
No Masks. No Detours. The Real You.
